Pearl Lake - a natural lake with fishing

Fishing from our beautiful lake, which dates from the Ice Age, is exclusively for holiday home owners, tourers and self catering visitors staying on our parks.

Although not a dedicated fishing lake, we keep it well stocked throughout the season, but it isn’t a runs water - so if you're expecting to bag several fish in a session you may have to be really patient - but that's half the fun!

Throughout the year, we work really hard to ensure that surface weed and algae are kept at bay, whilst ensuring there’s enough aquatic vegetation to camouflage and protect adult fish and nursery areas.

Please note - all fish must be returned to the lake.

Stay in our self-catering properties and fish for free!

The magic of fishing at Pearl Lake is the feeling that you’re enveloped by the peace and tranquillity from your very first cast. Whichever spot you choose to fish there’ll be tree creepers and nuthatches on one side, robins and kingfishers on the other.

The swims are varied– some are open while others are hidden away in the woods surrounded by weeping willows, rhododendron bushes or great gnarled oak trees.  There are pegs for the solitary angler who likes to stalk their fish or social pegs where passers by will stop and chat.

There is plenty of scope at Pearl Lake to catch carp, tench and perch. If you fish on the more overgrown side of the lake carp of over 20lbs have been caught as well as tench of up to 10lbs. Regular anglers favour the pegs at the top end of the lake and in the spring and early summer months when fish may be spawning, but bigger fish can often be found in the shallower water from pegs at the opposite end of the lake.
