What To Do in Herefordshire and the Welsh border
Pearl Lake, on the edge of Shobdon village, is surrounded by the wooded hills and valleys of the Marches countryside.
In the local area there are plenty of fishing spots, golf courses (including Kington, the highest 18 hole golf course in England) and several National Trust properties, as well as the historic 'black and white' village trail. Culturally stimulating Hay on Wye is a short drive away and the home of the annual Hay Literary Festival in May when celebrities flock to the area.
Larger towns close by include Leominster and Ludlow, whilst the historic city of Hereford is half an hour's drive away.
