Incredible woman fighting terminal cancer, continues to raise funds & awareness
As a lot of our owners on Pearl Lake will know, Trudy Evans on B18 and who lives in Stourbridge, has been battling the brutal disease since 2019 when she received intensive treatment for breast cancer. In 2021 she was given the all clear. Last year it reared its ugly head again and she faced the devastating news it had spread throughout her body. Trudy is still fighting hard raising awareness and funds for a charity very close to her heart.
Despite coping with her deteriorating condition, Trudy has just returned from a trip to EuroDisney with her grandchildren, joined in an Easter egg hunt and taken part in a presentation receiving a special donation for her nominated charity. Sue Capon, Treasurer for Cancer Research UK in the West Midlands met Trudy at a presentation who together with friends raised £5000 for the charity.
“The generosity shown by Glenn & Hannah Jones who’ve pledged £1,000 a month to charity to mark their 25 years at Pearl Lake is amazing. “ says Sue. “Without such funds research into cancer couldn’t continue, we’re so thankful to Trudy for nominating us and to Discover Parks for their donation.”
